MCS 9000

The MCS+ 9000 system is Haemonetics' latest multi-component platform, which offers a complete 1 portfolio of protocols for the collection of platelets, red cells, plasma, and combinations of these. It also offers a range of possibilities for therapeutic apheresis procedures. The versatility of this system enables blood collection organizations throughout the world to implement Total Apheresis™, a complete and economical solution for the automation of blood donation operations.

The MCS+ "Time Saver" platelet protocol is the simplest and most efficient way to collect high quality platelets 2. This small, portable device enables the collection of platelets on mobile blood drives and allows for the collection of single donor platelets (single and double doses), or platelets and plasma.

The latest platelet collection protocol for the MCS+ system (2) includes:

  • High quality platelets, from both single and double dose collection procedures
  • Consistent leukodepletion (95% < 1x10e6 with 95% C.I.) for platelet transfusion safety
  • A filtered product immediately available at the end of the collection
  • Donor-dependent return flow rates for optimal donor comfort

The MCS+ System features:

  • Quick and easy system installation
  • Simple operation, minimal training required
  • Brief, automated priming of anticoagulant lines
  • A compact design, ideal for mobile collection sites
  • Instant upgrade possible through exchange of protocol cards
